Electrical Engineer from the University of Chile and MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, with more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry across Chile and Argentina.
He began his career as part of the team that launched natural gas operations in Santiago, gaining extensive experience in structuring, negotiating, and managing contracts with natural gas producers and transport companies in both countries.
Later, as an executive at Gasco, he was appointed General Manager of Gasnor S.A., a natural gas distribution company in northern Argentina, where he led contract negotiations and comprehensive management across upstream and downstream operations, in addition to overseeing the company’s overall operations.
Today, as Founder and CEO of SouthEnergy SpA, he leads the company’s strategy and growth, supporting investors and asset owners in the evaluation, development, and management of energy projects in the electricity and fuels markets, with a strong focus on contract structuring, technical and financial analysis, and strategic representation before lenders and regulatory authorities.
Marcelo Biason
Development Manager – SouthEnergy SpA
Mechanical Engineer and Master of Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, with more than 20 years of experience in the energy and industrial sectors, working across engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality management, and planning.
He has worked directly with natural gas producers, transporters, and distributors, leading procurement, import, transportation, and supply contract management between Argentina and Chile. His experience includes supplying residential, commercial, and industrial clients of Metrogas, as well as combined-cycle power plants such as ENDESA San Isidro, Colbún Nehuenco, and AES Andes Nueva Renca.
At SouthEnergy, he leads the technical development of energy projects, participating in the structuring, evaluation, and coordination of generation and energy storage initiatives, bringing both operational and strategic expertise to every stage of the process.
